Animal Farm
In our reading class we are reading the book "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. We had to find a youtube video that represents it. In the book, the animals plan a rebellion to take over the farm. They do but come across some issues.

What's on my mind
There are a lot of things going through my mind right now, but one particular thing is DRAMA. People really know how to tick me off and push my buttons. I'm so fed up with everything that I don't even want to come to school anymore.

My Goals
What kind of goals do you have for yourself as the end of the semester approaches? Did you have a successful first semester? What goals will you set for yourself for second semester?
My goal is to keep my grades up. I have all A's and two B's so far for second quarter.
I had a very successful first semester. I ended with all A's and one B.
One goal I will set for second quarter is to keep my grades up. Another goal I will set is to do all my homework and hand it in on time.
Do you have any goals that you have set for yourself for school? Have been successful?

collage on "The Sun Parlor"
I chose to do my collage on the story "The Sun Parlor". There are different tones in this story. There is happy, sad, relieved, frustrated, and forgiving. I chose my pictures based on these tones.
"The Sun Parlor" is about two sister's, West and Sis. West lives at home and Sis visits on her breaks from school. West is the older sister. West decides to paint and rearrange the sun parlor. After some time, she finishes it, and a couple weeks later, Sis comes home on her break. Sis never stops to do anything, except that she noticed the sun parlor. West wouldn't let her go in it because West didn't want her to rune it. After Sis leaves, West's aunt comes to visit. On her visit, she becomes sick. They have her sleep in the parlor because she can't walk up the stairs. After she dies, West decides to lock up the parlor because there is too much sadness inside it.
The sad pictures represent when West chose to lock up the sun parlor after her aunt died.
The happy pictures represent when West's aunt came over. The aunt was West's favorite aunt.
West was frustrated when Sis came home for break because West had just gotten the sun parlor done and Sis, never stops for anything, noticed it.
West was relieved when Sis went to go play outside.
The hyper picture and the running picture represents Sis because she never stops to see, talk, or listen to anyone.
At the end of the story, West and Sis are older and West asks Sis if she could answer just one question. West is sad and forgiving even though Sis never answered her question.

Tarantula Spider or Digger Wasp
If you are not fascinated by either the spider or the wasp, why? What characteristics or traits cause you disinterest in that species?
I don't like spiders, let alone a tarantula, because they creep me out. Their long, hairy legs and bodies are gross. I hate mostly all insects and bugs. They may not be able to move fast, but they can make webs that are sticky and disgusting. Even though the tarantula spider is harmful to humans, I would still run if I saw one.

What's your favorite color? Why?
My favorite color is blue because to me blue is soothing. Most people say that green is a soothing color, but I myself think that blue is more soothing. You may think differently and that's okay.

My digital footprint
What is included in having a positive footprint? To have a positive footprint, I don't put my personal information(where I live) on any web site I visit. For example: Facebook and Myspace.
When should you start using your proper name and photo of yourself rather than an avatar? I think a person should start using their proper name and photo of them self when they either start a business of there own, have a business card, become a teacher of some sort, or when dealing with something for a job.
Who is responsible for showing you to be internet savvy? I would have to say that I taught myself what to put on the internet by seeing my friends put it out there and then regretting it. I also would have to give credit to my English teacher because she tells us what we should put and what not to put if we want to stay safe.
What information do you include on profiles when you register at a website? I put my name and my birthday(if asked for). I might(very rarely) put what town I live in but not my address or PO Box. I guess it all depends on what the web site is for.

Simpson's Episode: Tree House of Terror
I'm writing this to show that I know what the literary elements mean.
In this episode, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are in the tree house telling "scary" Halloween stories while Marge and Homer are cooking supper outside. While they are reading, they here a noise outside and go see what it is. It's an alien ship! The aliens take them and try to take over Springfield. The aliens feed the Simpson's and then Lisa finds a recipe book on "how to cook humans". The aliens see that she has found it and blow on it to dust it off. It then says, "How to cook for humans". Lisa blows on it and it now says, "How to cook forty humans". The alien blows on it again and it finally said, "How to cook for forty humans". Lisa hurt the aliens feelings and they dropped them off back at their house. The kids went back up into the tree house to tell stories. Homer was sitting outside the tree house in the tree. Marge calls the kids into the house for bed and as they are going down the tree, Homer is still sitting there shaking because he is scared. Homer has a nightmare that night.
Direct Characterization: The alien says, "This will fatten them humans up" while he was mixing a pot of stew.
Conflict- Character vs. Character: Bart and Lisa fighting over good/bad Halloween stories to tell.
Character vs. Society: Aliens vs. Springfield, the aliens tried to take over Springfield and failed.
Character vs. Nature: Aliens vs. food, they won't eat in front of the Simpson's.
Character vs. Self: Bart, he was choking himself trying to scare Lisa and Maggie.
Setting: Springfield and an alien ship at night.
Point of View(POV): Omniscient because the narrator used every one's POV instead of just one character.
Irony: Lisa says, "This is a scary one!" when she was reading a book on Halloween stories.
Suspense: Lisa and Bart keep telling "scary" Halloween stories that aren't scary.
Hyperbole: The alien ship had to use two beams of light t0 lift Homer into the ship.
Foreshadowing: Lisa was ease dropping on the stove and said, "This will fatten them humans up" and took the pot of stew away.
Flashback: Lisa is reading the story and they show what's happening through a visionary.
Exposition: Bart, Lisa, and Maggie go into the tree house.
Rising Action: They start telling "scary" Halloween stories.
Falling Action: Kids have to go inside for bed.
Resolution: Homer gets scared and has nightmares.
Drawing a Conclusion: Some stories aren't scary to others just because it's scary to you.

other blogger's
In exploring other people's blog's from different countries, I learned that they are set up differently. People from the same country have the same backgrounds and same flows. some people have to write a new blog everyday and others only have to write once a week.
